Who we are
Paws on the Sand (pawsonthesand.co.uk) is responsible for the personal information described here. Our contact email address is being set up and will appear here shortly.
Visiting the site
- We don't use cookies, and we don't use advertising or tracking tools.
- We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which doesn't use cookies or identify you. It tells us things like which pages are popular and roughly which country visits come from.
- The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks.
- Fonts and all page files are served from our own site, not from third parties.
- The beach "today" status and map work in your browser. We don't see the dates you check or the places you look at.
Business listing form
- When you send a listing, we collect your business details, your name and your email address.
- We use them to check your listing, place it on the map and contact you about it. This is our legitimate interest in running the listings you asked for.
- Business details (name, type, description, what you offer dogs, website and map position) are published on the site once approved. Your name and email are never published.
- Your postcode is sent to postcodes.io, a free UK postcode service, to find the map position. Nothing else is sent to it.
- Listings are stored in a private GitHub repository (GitHub, Inc., which may store data in the United States).
- We keep your contact details while your listing is on the site, and delete them within 12 months after it's removed or declined.
Paws Diary waitlist
- If you join the waitlist, we keep your email address so we can tell you when the Paws Diary launches. We only do this because you asked us to, and you can ask to be removed at any time.
- The list is stored in the same private GitHub repository. It is not shared or sold.
- We delete the list within 3 months after the launch email is sent.
Businesses we contact
We may contact dog-friendly businesses near the beaches we cover, using the business contact details they publish themselves (such as a website, phone number or general email address), to invite them to a free listing. We keep a simple record of who we have contacted and when. Every email includes a way to say no, and we stop contacting anyone who asks.
Spam protection
Both forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a real person is sending them. Turnstile looks at your browser and connection for signs of automated traffic. Cloudflare says it doesn't use this information for advertising.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Contact details will appear here shortly.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
