Torbay Council: dog rules
Council-wide dog rules, beaches and named places
Rules added
- Pick up after your dog anywhere in Torbay, including beaches, parks, woods and Coast and Countryside Trust land. Not having a bag is no excuse.
- Main beaches ban dogs 1 May to 30 September (Beaches layer). Dogs on a lead on the promenades beside those beaches in that season, and on roads and pavements.
- Dog-friendly all year: Anstey's Cove, Babbacombe, Livermead Sands, Goodrington Sands North, Fairy Cove, Shoalstone, Fishcombe Cove and Saltern Cove.
Lead and no-dog zones are not added yet.
Assistance dogs: most council dog orders and beach bans exempt assistance dogs, such as guide and hearing dogs. Check the source if you are unsure.
