Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council: dog rules
Council-wide dog rules, beaches and named places
Rules added
- Put your dog on a lead (2 metres max) if an officer asks, in listed parks and open spaces across the borough's nine towns.
- Fenced play areas, bowling greens, tennis courts and pitches are treated separately; keep dogs out unless signs allow. Pick up.
Based on dog orders from 2010 (amended 2013), carried on since.
Assistance dogs: most council dog orders and beach bans exempt assistance dogs, such as guide and hearing dogs. Check the source if you are unsure.
