Reading Borough Council: dog rules
Council-wide dog rules, beaches and named places
We've only partly added this council's dog rules. Check the source for the full order.
Partly added
- Put your dog on a lead if an officer asks.
- Pick up after your dog. Not having a bag is no excuse.
- £100 fixed penalty.
Borough-wide order approved November 2025 (in force from March 2026). Officers usually warn first.
Assistance dogs: most council dog orders and beach bans exempt assistance dogs, such as guide and hearing dogs. Check the source if you are unsure.
