Oldham Council: dog rules

Council-wide dog rules, beaches and named places

We've only partly added this council's dog rules. Check the source for the full order.

Partly added

Oldham's district orders from 1 January 2025 require dogs on a lead and picking up in the listed restricted areas (East District covers Saddleworth, Lees and Waterhead).
Elsewhere, pick up and follow signs in parks and play areas.

Runs to the end of 2027.

Assistance dogs: most council dog orders and beach bans exempt assistance dogs, such as guide and hearing dogs. Check the source if you are unsure.
