Hackney Council: dog rules
Council-wide dog rules, beaches and named places
Rules added
- Dogs on a lead on roads, in car parks, churchyards, communal estate areas, small parks and gardens under half a hectare, and Shepherdess Walk. Off lead in large parks if well behaved.
- No dogs in playgrounds, sports courts, games areas, marked pitches during play, or dog-free areas in parks.
Assistance dogs: most council dog orders and beach bans exempt assistance dogs, such as guide and hearing dogs. Check the source if you are unsure.
