Council-wide dog rules, beaches and named places
Rules added
- Dogs on a lead in cemeteries and school grounds, and whenever an officer asks.
- Carry bags and pick up anywhere in the borough. £100 fixed penalty (£75 if paid within 14 days).
Borough-wide order, enforced from February 2026.
Assistance dogs: most council dog orders and beach bans exempt assistance dogs, such as guide and hearing dogs. Check the source if you are unsure.
