Getting onto the beach

  • Knoll Beach is the most accessible: a level 50-metre route from the car park to the café and toilets, hard matting onto the beach, and blue matting to an easier-access beach hut in summer.
  • Free all-terrain beach wheelchairs (manual and electric) at Knoll Beach, and a Tramper scooter from South Beach (Countryside Mobility membership); booking recommended on 01929 450500.
  • Changing Places room with hoist and shower at Knoll Beach; accessible toilets at Knoll, Middle Beach and Shell Bay. Blue Badge holders park free.

Access source: National Trust, checked October 2026.

Assistance dogs: most council dog orders and beach bans exempt assistance dogs, such as guide and hearing dogs. Check the source if you are unsure.
